De Laet stands as a distinguished figure for his multifaceted career as a musician, guitar builder, and violin maker.



With a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, De Laet's expertise bridges the realms of classical and popular music, reflecting a rich and diverse artistic journey.


De Laet's musical foundation was built through studies with acclaimed masters such as Luiz Claudio Stelzer, Renato Candro, Luiz Carlos Tessarin, Arrigo Barnabé, Neide Rodrigues Gomes, Lina Noronha and Paulo Zuben. His classical guitar training was further enriched by masterclasses with the esteemed Spanish virtuoso Pablo Sainz Villegas, and he honed his orchestral arrangements skills under the tutelage of maestros Antonio Carlos Castro Neves (Brazil) and Pablo Dell’Oca Sala (Uruguay).


Beyond his performance career, De Laet has made significant contributions as a luthier. He studied at the prestigious Conservatório Dramático e Musical Carlos de Campos de Tatuí (Brazil), where he mastered the art of building bowed musical instruments, including violins, violas, and cellos, based on the Cremonese method. His dedication to craftsmanship is evident in the high-quality instruments crafted in his De Laet Workshop, known for their exceptional sonority and aesthetic appeal.


De Laet's musical versatility is showcased across numerous projects. He was the frontman of Karmanguia, a band that gained recognition as a finalist in the II Festival Rádio Transamérica FM/Semp-Toshiba. He also led the progressive metal band Metal Jam, demonstrating his prowess across diverse genres.


In addition to his artistic and artisanal pursuits, De Laet has a strong background in music media and production. He served as editor for Violão PRO Magazine, a prominent publication for guitar enthusiasts, and has produced numerous jingles and advertising spots for various campaigns.
